ASTM B165 Monel 400 Nickel Alloy Chemical Industry Pipe

ASTM B165 Monel 400 Nickel Alloy Chemical Industry Pipe
ASTM B165 Monel 400 pipe is a seamless nickel-copper alloy known for its high corrosion resistance, strength, and suitability for high-temperature applications in the chemical industry. Key features include resistance to seawater, steam, salt, and alkaline solutions, as well as good weldability. It is suitable for condensers and heat exchangers, and for environments containing corrosive elements, including hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids in their degassed state.
What are the specifications for Monel 400 pipe?
This grade of nickel-copper alloy is available in ASTM B165 and B725 specifications. Pipe is available in seamless, welded, electric-resistance-welded, and fabricated forms. ASME SB165 Monel 400 seamless pipe conforms to ASTM, ASME, and API standards and is available in nominal inside diameters ranging from 15 inches to 150 inches.

ASTM B165 N04400 pipe is an alloy of nickel and copper, with a copper content of 28%-34% and a nickel content of >=63%. Combining the precious metal properties of copper with the passivating properties of nickel, ASTM B165 N04400 pipe exhibits excellent corrosion resistance. Therefore, it is widely used in desalination plants, heat exchangers, marine structure surfaces, desalination/salt production/petroleum refining plants, marine components, heat exchangers, valves for chemical/desalination plants, and pump components.
Monel 400 alloy pipe (UNS N04400 or MCu-28-1.5-1.8 or Ni68Cu28Fe) is a nickel-based alloy that exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in seawater, chemical solvents, ammonia, sulfur chloride, hydrogen chloride, various acidic media (such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, and organic acids), alkaline media, salt, and molten salts. Monel 400 alloy pipes offer excellent mechanical properties and are widely used in low- to high-temperature environments. They possess excellent weldability and medium-to-high strength. Monel 400 pipes are primarily used in the chemical, petrochemical, and marine industries. They can be used to manufacture various heat exchange equipment, boiler feedwater heaters, petrochemical pipelines, vessels, towers, tanks, valves, pumps, reactors, shafts, and more.

Gnee Steel specializes in the production of various nickel-based alloys. Gnee Steel's product packaging includes steel strapping: Pipes with an outer diameter of 3 inches or less are typically strapped together with polypropylene film to prevent rust during sea transportation, and then secured with steel strapping. Wooden boxes/crates: Pipes are typically packaged in wooden boxes or crates to protect them during transportation, especially those that are longer or have larger diameters. Seaworthy export packaging: Suppliers typically use standard seaworthy export packaging methods, which may include a variety of materials and techniques to protect the pipes during transportation. Tarpaulin packaging: This prevents rainwater, seawater, and other external factors from penetrating the export wooden crates during transportation. Gnee Steel specializes in the production and sale of alloy materials. Gnee Steel's products are widely used in aerospace, chemical, power, automotive, nuclear, and other industries, and we can provide customized alloy material solutions based on customer needs.
